Premiere of the theater play “Pirates in front of the Colentum”.

The pupils of elementary school “Murterski škoji” on Friday 15th January 2016. in movie theater “Yellow” in Murter are premiered performed adaptation of the play “Pirates in front of the Colentum”.

The hall was full as well as the hearts of parents and other audience that has supported small Murter drama amateurs who broke the ice with their first public appearance. This performance was also an integral part of the “Little School of Theatre”, which is under the leadership by Sergeja Mioča and Vedranka Balare Šikića gathered about 25 boys and girls in primary school “Murterski škoji”. School runs from October 2015. to May 2016. when the same actors at the foot of the Gradina hill at the site of ancient Roman villas will play a composition continuation of this show called “Hidden treasure Colentum”.

On this occasion will be presented the first tourist map of the archaeological site of Colentum. The map will include an attractive visualization of archaeological objects and will be on it drawn paths, lookout points, archaeological and other cultural attractions in the area of the hill Gradina.

With the evaluation of the archaeological site Colentum, aim of this project is to contribute to the revitalization of the drama amateurism Murter.

All these activities are conducted within the project “Archaeological treasure Colentum 4” implemented by the Association Argonauta on island Murter in partnership with the municipality of Murter-Kornati in the period from 1. September 2015. until June 1. 2016., and in cooperation with the elementary school “Murterski škoji”, Tourist Board Murter-Kornati and theater association Virko from Šibenik. Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds project supported in the amount of 25,000.00 kn.

Murter has a strong tradition of drama amateurism whose first mention was recorded far back in 1922. The golden age of drama amateurism Murter was during the seventies of the 20th century when the inhabitants of Murter had one of the strongest amateur theater in the region. A particular success has resulted in the play “On the waterfront” which are Murterini represented Croatia at the federal festival in Trebinje. The late Čeda Juraga at the festival received the “Golden Mask” for best actress. With this performance murterski drama amateurs had about 35 guest performances throughout the former state. Murter has been the host of the Festival of Dramatic amateur Dalmatia in 1975.
