BEACH CLEANING ECO-ACTION WITH INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS.
On October 5, 2017, in the afternoon, while 10 participants of The GLUE project volunteered to completed a large wall mural at the local kindergarden in Betina called “Školjkica” (“Small Shell”), the other 30, started their volunteering in Beach cleaning eco-action at the the peninsula of Gradina between Murter and Betina villages, which was hosted by Argonautas` Eco-patrol leader Ivana Marin.
Volunteers started off the action from Betina’s side where, unfortunately, due to the position and the direction of wind, it could always be found large amounts of, mainly, plastic waste. Volunteers cleared the whole coast of the peninsula and this contributed to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the marine environment and the major pollution problem with plastic waste. They have collected more than twenty waste bags of garbage.
