IN MURTER EU INVESTS IN YOUNG PEOPLE.
29.9. – 8.10.2017. Murter – On 29 September 2017, the international Youth Exchange “Invest in young people – the GLUE project” started in Murter, which brought together 40 unemployed young people from Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, Portugal and Bulgaria to learn and volunteer together for 10 days. The host of the youth exchange is Argonauta Association.
Through informal learning methods, work learning, role playing activities, team buildings, simulation games, case study analysis, practical workshops, discussions, etc., participants will learn more about volunteering, how volunteering starts and what keeps a community together. They will also acquire the individual skills required for the labor market and find out how social and individual links are established, as volunteers can help social inclusion of all groups in society.
Youth exchange participants will have the opportunity to organize four volunteer actions in Murter (ecological action on the coast cleaning, restoration of drywall and digging at the Colentum archaeological site, helping the elderly in agricultural works, painting the garden in kindergarten) and practicing volunteering through these activities. A study visit to the Most Bridge in Split will also be organized. There participants will learn more about the possibilities of volunteering in NGOs – a civil society organization in Croatia and will volunteer at the Center for Education Juraj Bonači. The last day of the exchange program will be organized in the form of a promotional fair in the center of Murter, where project images and information on the benefits and opportunities of volunteering will be offered to people from the local community.
