Hello, I’m Serena! New volunteer in Argonaut.

Datum objave: 3. April, 2018.

This week another volunteer joined the team of Argonauta inside the project “Sea is life 7”. Her name is Serena Lisai and she is from Italy, in particular, from the island Sardinia. She studied Urban and Landscape planning, attending also a Master in Climate Change in Spain. To make her feel welcome in our community we asked her to present herself in the primary school of Murter.

On Wednesday, she met a class and she talked with the children about the beauties of Italy. She was surprised to discover that the children could speak a bit of her language and they repeated with her some sentences in Italian. Since the children already knew something about Italy, Serena decided to present some particular aspects of her island, such as the “nuraghi”, archaeological buildings from 1500 a.C., which are very common only in the island of Sardinia. Then it was the time of the Name’s game and the children found out interesting facts about cities, beaches, mountains and festivals of Sardinia, saying the Sardinian names of some beautiful places and putting the names in a map with tips. To close the presentation, Serena showed to the children some basic steps of a traditional Sardinian dance and everybody danced together in a circle. At the end it was a mix of latino, irish, greek dances; our children are not perfect Sardinian dancers, but they totally have the sense of rhythm.
