Recycle & Reuse: Colorful octopus.

Datum objave: 27. July, 2018.

During the summer, the attendants of our workshops go every day to the beach. They swim and dive, and often, with fish, crabs and sea shells, they find plastic packaging. In order to help nature, we decided to turn plastic bottlenecks and glasses into reusable objects – we made colored octopus designs.

To begin with, we played a game where the sea had to be cleaned of plastic waste. The children took plastic bags and other pieces of garbage – there were all this, plastic bags, pieces of clothing, plastic pieces … Little by little, our imaginary sea has been cleaned and the children once learned that waste has to be properly throw away to keep our environment clean.

The octopus’ arms were made by the insertion of plastic plugs on the thread, and they used the plastic glass to create the head of our octopuses. It was wonderful to see how all these cheerful and colorful octopuses are made. We found that the swinging of our owls’ arms produces interesting sounds, so we got a small musical instrument as a new toy!
