Celebration of the European Day of Languages in Murter.
On 26th September, O.N.G. Udruga Argonauta and the international volunteers of EVS project “Dry Stone Wall Extravaganza 4” will celebrate the European Day of Languages in Murter.
Since 2001, at the Council of Europe’s initiative, the 26th September the European Day of Languages is celebrated across Europe. Its goal is to raise awareness about Europe’s rich linguistic diversity, which must be preserved and improved. As fifteen volunteers from five European countries are currently in Murter, we decided to celebrate the European Day of Languages with the local community to bring together the traditions, culture and languages of Italy, Spain, Turkey, Bulgaria and Poland.
The event will take place in Rudina Square on Wednesday, September 26th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The volunteers will prepare traditional dishes of their countries and short lessons about their languages and traditions. They will also be joined by children from the Primary school Murterski škoji together with their teachers.
We invite you to join us and to support the activities of our international volunteers!
