The establishment of the Educational Centre for Socially Useful Learning is in progress.
Among the activities of the Plavi Projekt (the “Blue Project”) there is also the creation of an Educational Centre for Socially Useful Learning at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zagreb.
The realization of the centre is now starting in a space that was used as a learning facility, for individual exhibitions and for storing teaching materials. The floors have been changed and the electrical system and the walls are under renovation. The end of the works is scheduled for late January 2019, when the first students that will participate in the pilot implementation of the program of socially useful learning will be selected.
The centre will provide a permanent physical facility to store the materials needed and to host the professors and students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, permitting them to transfer their knowledge and to disseminate the results of the project. The opening of this centre guarantees the sustainability of the program of Socially Useful Learning at the University of Zagreb, as it will provide students with an adequate space to plan their project and thus to keep on their civic engagement in the field of marine wildlife protection.
