SECOND FAIR OF ANTIQUE JEWELRY IN TISNO..
Argonauta association, in cooperation with the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Tisno, the National Library and the reading house of Tisno, with the financial assistance of the Municipality of Tisno, organizes another “Antique Jewelery Fair” at the atrium of Katunarić Palace in Tisno from 2 to 3 July 2019.
The inspiration for the jewelry fair is the archaeological collection of St. Martin Ivinj, which contains interesting copies of medieval jewelry found in this area.
Findings found during the archaeological researches in Makirina or in the locality of Sv. Martin in Ivinje was collected in the Archaeological Collection of St. Martina, which is located on the ground floor of the Katunarić palace (Tisno Municipality building). Among the exhibits, numerous jewelry finds, especially the so-called three-eyed earrings characteristic of this area.
The main goal of the fair is to bring visitors closer to the contents of the collection, to point to the value of this archeological site, as well as to gather and present the jewelry of craftsmen and artists from our area and throughout Croatia.
In addition to the replica of antique jewelry from the Zagreb Archaeological Museum, the old antique jewelry can be bought at the fair, as well as the artistic jewelry of local authors. Some of the exhibitors are: Verbena Handmades, Hand Made Sanjam, M’art’A, AGart, Ayelen.
The Jewelry Fair will be open from 17 to 22 h; the opening ceremony of the collection with the accompanying program will begin on 2.7.2019. at 19 o’clock (opening will be led by the head of the National Library and Tisno Library, Mrs. Silvija Ćurić, while the guest is the opening art historian Josip Ćuzel). Also, the young cello Viktor Hodak, will complete the opening program with his performance. On Wednesday 3.7. from 18h, all interested exhibitors will be able to create their jewelry inspired by antiquity at the Argonauta’s jewelery workshop.
