The e-manual “Science in Nature” completed a story of the volunteer’s personal project.
The Argonauta association has been taking long-term volunteers in its daily activities for many years and invites them to realize a personal project during their volunteer work. In their volunteering engagement, they are given the opportunity to try out at various stages of the project and see what is “project – from the idea to realization”.
Through the project Sea is life 7, a French chemistry engineering student, Morgan Mauduit also did her volunteering service in the Argonauta association. The same says that she came to Murter to “teach the school of life” and ways to make her knowledge of chemistry and science interesting to the general public, especially children. This is exactly what she achieved in her personal project where she co-operated with the local school and three young volunteers and performed two educational workshops: 1. Plants and Colors and 2. Sponges. In cooperation with the student union Maraška from Zadar, the volunteer also presented her program at the Science Festival in Zadar.
The popularization of science among students was what motivated our volunteer to realize a personal project. Morgan’s initial idea has evolved into something more than primary planed – she linked the education of higher grade students of the Murterski škoji school, promotion of volunteering and participation in the Festival of Science. With the help of three worthy volunteers, Morgane realized a personal project and rounded it up by publishing a short e-manual “Science in Nature”.
“Science is far more than formula and equation, and it is not that complicated. It is much more related to everyday life than we think, we just have to open our eyes and be delighted.” Morgan says and invites all interested teachers, parents, and students to read a short e-manual and be ready to research and learn about the world.
