The Murter European Day of Languages will be celebrated by Argonauta and EVS volunteers.
We celebrated at the European Language Day celebration from 11 am to 2 pm! We tried Turkish, Spanish, Polish, Italian delicacies, hang out with our volunteers and learnt a new word! (due to the wind we moved in front of Studenac, Butina 6, Murter).
Across Europe, 800 million Europeans represented in the Council of Europe from 47 Member States are encouraged to learn as many languages as possible, at any age, in school and beyond. As linguistic diversity is a tool for achieving greater intercultural understanding and a key factor in the rich cultural heritage of our continent, the Council of Europe promotes multilingualism throughout Europe.
During the Council of Europe initiative, the Day of European Languages began to be celebrated on 26 September 2001.
