Educational Workshop “3R- Recycle, Reduce, Reuse” for Second Grade Students at Murter School.
The educational workshop “3R-Recycle, Reuse, Reduce” was held today in elementary school “Murterski škoji”. The workshop was intended for second-grade students. Students had to bring all the waste they produced yesterday and bringing it to today’s workshop to learn how and why to recycle, but this is not all we learned today, we also learned how long it takes that waste decomposes and how plastic waste affects animals and humans.
After recycling, we also showed children what they can do to reduce water and energy consumption and the use of disposable plastic in a fun game. After recycling, we also showed children what they can do to reduce water and energy consumption and the use of disposable plastic in a fun game.
To get the children to better understand the word Reuse, we have given them some tips on how some things, which most people consider waste, can be reused to make a variety of useful things. In the end, the children made caterpillars of plastic caps, to see that with ordinary plastic caps ,a string of wool and a little imagination can make interesting toys.
This workshop was designed and prepared by our EVS volunteer Claudia Calamia, our colleague Lovro Lučev led it, and our other EVS volunteer Mertcan Çılgın was in charge of recording and photographing.
We would like to thank Teacher Jasenka for her hospitality once again and we hope to see you again at some new fun and educational workshop.
