Volunteer Cleanup Action “I Love Murter”.
Today (7th February 2020) at 9 in the morning, we met in Hripe with all people wanting to participate in the cleanup action “I Love Murter” organised by the Municipality of Murter. The action took place in order to raise awareness and promote the importance of environmental protection. As one of the Murter Associations, Argonauta joined the numerous volunteers made by employees of the Murter-Kornati Municipality, Murter-Kornati Tourist Office, Murtela and locals.
Starting from the meeting point to Glavičine until the area of Jersan, we collected a lot of waste which will be disposed of by Murtela Company at an adequate landfill in the Hripe area.
The unsightly view we see daily on driveways and in the surrounded area was an unconscious landfill of construction waste and discarded household appliances, car tires, furniture, machinery and plastic objects. In addition to aesthetically ruin the environment, they were a threat to our rich eco-system and its rich natural heritage. The team jointly worked to make our Murter a more beautiful and healthier place, for both flora and fauna, for us and all visitors of Murter.
We want to thank the mayor and The Municipality of Murter to have organized this action providing the equipment used for working and a nice refreshment.
