CAPACITY FOR ORGANIZATION AND COORDINATION OF ACTIVITIES OF SOCIAL CENTER SAIL – VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT.
On Thursday, February 18, 2021, a half-day training “Volunteer Management” was held as part of the capacity building for the organization and coordination of activities of the Social Center Jedro led by Antonia Matković from the Volunteer Center Split.
At the training, representatives of local associations were introduced to the basic terminology and definitions in the field of volunteering, found out what is and what is not volunteering, found out who can organize volunteering and who are stakeholders in the volunteering process.
In addition, the Law on Volunteering, written contracts on volunteering as well as their content, duration of volunteering, submission of reports on organized volunteering, certificates of volunteering and acquired competencies, rights and responsibilities of volunteers and receiving organizations were discussed.
The participants of the training got a really detailed insight into the description of the volunteer position and the volunteer program, ways to attract volunteers, the selection and training of volunteers as well as the organization of volunteer action.
At the end, the training leader introduced all participants to examples of good practice and invited the present representatives of local associations to write their own volunteer program.
This activity is part of the implementation of the DC Jedro project financed from the European Social Fund (85%) and grants provided from the State Budget of the Republic of Croatia (15%) with a total value of HRK 1,999,243.34.
