SETTING GOALS AND HOW TO ACHIEVE THEM.
When we open ourselves to new experiences, we often have set goals for what we want to achieve, but not how.
Our ESC volunteers Romina from Spain and Juliette from France in Murter addressed the goals through reflection this month. First, the girls had to write on paper 10 goals that they want to achieve through their volunteer engagement and through the experience of long-term volunteering. Then they chose 1 goal that holds the most value for them, but which seems to be unachievable. The next step was to identify 5 steps they could take to get closer to achieving their goals.
This reflection allowed them to identify the main motivators for why they decided to embark on this adventure, but also to gain insight into what has prevented them from achieving their goals so far.
Try to use this method if you have certain goals, but you can’t get on the path to achieving them.
*The European Solidarity Corps (ESS) is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping disadvantaged people and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.
The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.
Volunteers from the European Solidarity Forces program took part in the activity.
