UNDERWATER CLEANING ACTION HELD IN THE BETINA MARINA AREA.

On Saturday, April 20, an action was held to clean the underwater area of Marina Betina, initiated by Marina herself, and organized by our association Argonauts.

About 30 local divers gathered at the event, from RK Murter-Kornati as well as from Varaždin, from KPA Drava and JVP Varaždin, who are also trained divers.

The entire area of Marina Betina was cleaned, and the divers were helped by volunteers on land.

Everything was collected, from old tires, batteries to metal trolleys from the supermarket, and a total of about 4 cubic meters of waste, which was properly disposed of by the local utility company Ježinac d.o.o.

This action was also part of a larger action called Resolution Land, which has been mobilizing volunteers all over Croatia for the third year to clean up the environment and raise awareness of the importance of environmental responsibility. On Saturday, more than 40 tons of waste were collectively collected in just two hours of action, which clearly shows how present the problem of pollution is.

That’s how we at Marina Betina realized that we will certainly return there for cleaning campaigns in order to leave a cleaner environment for those who come after us than we found it.
