WIND ENERGY WITH THE SUMMER MAESTRAL.
On Wednesday July 17, we held another Eco-Wednesday workshop on a valuable natural and renewable energy source: wind! 💨🌏
The beautiful bay of Čigrađa and the beach bar Lantana were the location of another entertaining and educational workshop for children, where the main topic was wind energy. The children first learned what renewable energy sources are, why wind is important and how we can use this essential resource.
Then we started making small windmills, which made it easier for the children to understand the way energy generation works. With the help of our ESC volunteers and with a few easily available materials, the children successfully made functional windmills that they used in the game of energy to victory where they had the task of using the wind to push the ball to the goal as soon as possible. 🌊🌬
Take a look at a piece of the atmosphere, and see you again next Wednesday! 🌏
*Workshops are conducted as part of the “Eco-Wednesdays – educational program for children” project. The project is financed by the Šibenik-Knin County.
*The European Solidarity Corps (ESS) is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping disadvantaged people and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.
The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.
Volunteers from the European Solidarity Forces program took part in the activity.
