Discovering Hydropower.

Datum objave: 14. August, 2024.

This Wednesday, the children embarked on a captivating aquatic adventure to discover hydropower during our Eco-Wednesday. This week, water energy, a precious and sustainable resource, was at the heart of our workshop. 🌊💦

At the charming Lantana beach bar, nestled in the bay of Čigrađa, we offered the children a workshop filled with discoveries and fun, focused on hydropower. The first activity of the day was to make water wheels using simple materials like ice cream sticks, water bottles and wooden sticks. The children tapped into their creative spirit to make their own turbines, which they then tested in a water basin. Seeing their creations come to life with the power of water was a joyful moment. 🌊✨

Following the workshop, we organized a treasure hunt full of surprises. The children followed a series of clues and overcame various fun challenges: charades, the telephone game, mimes and puzzles to solve. Each completed challenge provided a new piece of the puzzle, gradually guiding them to the final cleverly hidden treasure.

This workshop was not only a source of entertainment but also helped the children understand the importance of green energy and sustainability. We look forward to seeing you again next Wednesday, same place, same time, for another session of Eco-Wednesday! 🔋🌞

*Workshops are conducted as part of the project “Eco-Wednesdays – educational program for children”. The project is financed by the Šibenik-Knin County.

*The European Solidarity Corps (ESS) is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping disadvantaged people and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.

The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.

Volunteers from the European Solidarity Forces program took part in the activity.
