Discovering the Beauty of Art in Nature.
Another educational Eco-Wednesday workshop was held this Wednesday, and this week’s topic was “Art in Nature”. 🦋🐞🪶🦎
In this workshop, children learned to create art using materials from the environment: leaves, stones, flowers, sticks and much more. Through a series of interesting activities, children were introduced to the charms of nature as an artistic source. The workshop thus encourages creativity, encourages sustainable practices and helps children develop a deep respect for the environment.
The workshop started in a fun way to break the ice and help the children get to know each other. Forming a circle, each child takes turns introducing himself by saying his name and favorite color.
After the group has warmed up, the workshop gives way to a live game that energetically introduces the concepts of art and color. Children are divided into two teams and each is assigned a color. When a color is called, the child from each team representing that color runs to grab the paper the volunteer is holding, earning a point for their team. This game not only enhances color recognition, but also encourages teamwork and quick reflexes.
The next activity took the children on an exciting nature walk, where they explored the surroundings and collected natural materials.
At the workshop, the children created unique works of art from the collected material. Using the materials they collected during the nature walk, they had the task of painting their own bookmarks. They first cut bookmark shapes from colored paper and then, using color palettes and their natural materials such as paintbrushes, decorated their bookmarks with designs that reflected their imaginations and the natural world around them.
This activity not only allows children to experiment with different textures and techniques, but also strengthens the connection between nature and art. While painting, they work on their creativity, imagination and autonomy, while at the same time dealing with the natural materials they have collected.
Interesting and educational, isn’t it? See how the workshop went and how much fun we had in our gallery.🤩😉😊

*Workshops are conducted as part of the project “Eco-Wednesdays – educational program for children”. The project is financed by the Šibenik-Knin County.
*The European Solidarity Corps (ESS) is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping disadvantaged people and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.
The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.
Volunteers from the European Solidarity Forces program took part in the activity.
