BECOME A ROWER!.
In collaboration with the young rowers from the “Dupin” Rowing Club in Tisno, two workshops were held on November 25th and 29th, where we introduced the club, the training and competition process, and the key elements of rowing.
Through two interactive workshops, students from Vjekoslav Kaleb Elementary School in Tisno had the opportunity to hear firsthand experiences from the young rowers about why they chose rowing, what they love about regattas, and why all their peers should engage in sports. Coach Dražen Babić from the VK Dupin gave a speech to motivate the young people to get active and start practicing sports, emphasizing that good habits start from a young age.
The workshop was enriched with activities like human knots, rowing simulations, and a fun quiz, where students directly learned one of the most important qualities of rowers: teamwork.
We are extremely happy with the results achieved by the youth, and we hope that the team involved in the project will inspire other young people from the local community to take action and make changes!
*The goal of the “Rural Rhapsody” project is to empower young people from the local community to take an active role in their rural community and to assume the role of initiators and organizers of cultural, entertainment, and other events by preparing and implementing their own projects. This project offers young people from rural areas the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in an alternative way, different from what is usually available in their communities.
*The project is funded by the Central State Office for Demography and Youth through financial support from available revenue from games of chance and the State Budget for 2023.
