WELCOME BACK ECO WEDNESDAYS!.
Today, we hosted the first workshop of the new “Eco-Wednesday” program at Jedro! Inspired by the success of last year’s workshop, we decided to continue the adventure of learning about nature in a fun and engaging way. Children from the kindergarten group “Školjkica” – a district facility in Betina, part of the “Spužvica” kindergarten in Tisno, joined us for a special reason: to learn about biodiversity 🌏
As part of the “Kornati – It Is Important to Know About the Sea 9” project, this workshop revolved around the concept of biodiversity: What is the difference between the living and non-living world? How do we know we are alive? Is a plant a living organism even if it doesn’t have eyes or lips? These were just some of the questions we discussed today. We wrapped up the workshop by painting living and non-living things after learning the difference between them, and we sang along to some really cool songs about animals, like the “Bubamara” song (Ladybird).
The little ones learned a new word and showed their imagination, creativity, and knowledge in recognizing various plant and animal species 🌱

*The project is financed by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia
*The European Solidarity Corps (ESS) is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping disadvantaged people and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.
The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.
Volunteers from the European Solidarity Forces program took part in the activity.
