ECO-WEDNESDAY: WIND ENERGY.
Today we held the second workshop of the traditional Eco Wednesday in Jedro, as part of this year’s ninth edition of the project “Kornati – It’s Important to Know About the Sea.”
The workshop focused on wind energy and wind turbines as sustainable energy sources. Where does energy come from? How do we use energy in our daily lives? What are the advantages of wind energy compared to fossil fuels? Why is wind energy renewable? These were some of the questions we discussed today. To understand how wind has the power to move things, we created our own wind turbines, which the children designed individually.
We learned about the importance of implementing renewable energy sources and how we can harness wind to protect the environment.

*The European Solidarity Corps (ESS) is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping disadvantaged people and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.
The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.
Volunteers from the European Solidarity Forces program took part in the activity.
