ECO-WEDNESDAY: WATER FOOTPRINTS.
This workshop was dedicated to water and how many different products contain a lot or a little water. We started with questions about our daily water consumption. After that, the children worked in groups to guess how much water is needed during the process from cultivation to production. We poured water into glasses to illustrate the different amounts needed for each product, such as coffee, apples, bread, etc. Additionally, the children came up with ideas on how to reduce water consumption, for example, that we don’t need to let the water run while brushing our teeth 🙂
In the end, we played an active game where the children ran to different “water footprints.” It was amazing to see how much they understood the concept and how motivated they were to reduce their own “water footprints”!
*The project is financed by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia
*The European Solidarity Corps (ESS) is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping disadvantaged people and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.
The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.
Volunteers from the European Solidarity Forces program took part in the activity.
