DISSEMINATION AT ANTUNA VRANČIĆ GYMNASIUM AS PART OF THE BLUESLINKS PROJECT.
Argonauta organized the first of two dissemination events for schools as part of the Interreg BLUESLINKS project. The event was held for students of the Antun Vrančić Gymnasium from the general, natural science and language programs.
We first introduced the high school students to the BLUESLINKS project and their role in it, followed by a presentation by Tihana Šundov from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Republic of Croatia, who introduced the students to the concept of the Blue Economy, the employment and education opportunities it offers, and the skills that this sector requires. Aquaculture and fisheries and their position in the blue economy were also discussed in detail.
Bruna Čvorak gave an informative presentation about DIH AGRIFOOD CROATIA, explaining how the organization supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and stakeholders in the agri-food sector by facilitating access to digital tools, expertise and financing opportunities. She looked back at their business and highlighted the aquaculture activities they are involved in. She presented the employment opportunities in this sector and what the BE sector could look like in the future.
During the presentations, students expressed their thoughts, actively participated and asked questions, and perhaps this experience will encourage them to choose a career path in one of the many sectors of the blue economy.
