SECOND DISSEMINATION EVENT OF THE BLUESLINKS PROJECT AT THE TRAFFIC-TECHNICAL SCHOOL IN ŠIBENIK.
On Thursday, April 3, Argonauta organized the second dissemination event for schools as part of the Interreg BLUESLINKS project. The event was held for students of the Šibenik Traffic and Technical School from the yacht and marina technician and maritime navigator programs.
We first introduced the high school students to the BLUESLINKS project and their role in it, and then they were introduced to the concept of the blue economy and what it encompasses. We introduced the students to employment and education opportunities, as well as the skills needed in the blue economy sectors. A special focus was placed on the nautical sector, given that their current education is in line with this.
This was followed by an informative and interesting lecture by Boris Jadrić, a skipper with many years of experience working in the blue economy, specifically in the nautical tourism sector. From the very beginning of the development of nautical tourism on the Adriatic, to the current state and opportunities offered, the students learned more about this sector and what is needed for a successful career in this sector. They were also presented with learning options and events they could participate in, such as charity regattas and joining skippers’ associations.
We concluded this dissemination event with a lecture by Nele Turčinov on the values and special features of the Kornati Islands. Given the impact that such activities have on the environment, it is important to highlight the economic, cultural, historical and other values of the Kornati Islands.
The presentation encouraged students to exchange ideas and ask questions, and this experience could serve as inspiration for a future career within the diverse areas of the blue economy.
