SECOND RECYCLING WORKSHOP IN THE IV. EDITION OF THE PROJECT “Let’s Turn the Circle of Change”.

Datum objave: 9. April, 2025.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the second Recycling Workshop was held with students from the Catholic Primary School in Šibenik as part of the ZaVRTimo Circle of Change IV project implemented by LAG more 249, of which we are long-standing partners.

The workshop began with an analysis of homework in which students monitored the amount and type of waste they produce, and the results showed an increase in awareness of their own impact on the environment. This was followed by an energizer in which students, through a game with the terms nature, environment, plants and animals, entered the topic of the ecosystem and together reflected on its importance and delicate balance. They then recalled the concept of 7R (Recycle, Refurbish, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Rethink, Recover) and in teams created visual representations of each of these principles – using drawings, comics and stories for their everyday application.

The final and most exciting activity was the Eco Escape Room, in which students, divided into groups, solved five related environmental tasks. The first station involved sorting cards according to the decomposition time of materials; the second required a comparison of (positive and negative) everyday habits; the third was a quiz on sustainability and the 7R concept; the fourth station contained questions about proper waste disposal, while the last one involved solving anagrams of ecological terms. Each solved puzzle led them closer to the ultimate goal: discovering the message “Let’s preserve nature for future generations!”. At the end of the workshop, the students expressed satisfaction with the activities, recognized changes in their own behavior and emphasized how they had passed on the knowledge to their family members – which further confirms the value and wider impact of such education.

See how much fun we had in the gallery! 🙂
