International Experience at Your Doorstep – Call for Volunteer Mentors.

Are you a person who loves helping others, sharing your knowledge and experience? Do you have the skills and passion to connect with young people and support their integration into the local community? If your answer is “yes,” you might be the mentor we are looking for!

As part of the WIN – Volunteer in Murter project, Argonauta is seeking an individual to support volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps in their experience. Volunteers are a key support for our projects, and your role as a mentor will be to ensure they feel welcomed, integrated into the local community, and acquire new skills that will aid their personal and professional development.

What will you do:

Providing Support to Volunteers: Help them navigate daily life in Murter, from advice on local customs to assistance with administrative matters.
Language Exchange and Learning: If you have good language skills, assist volunteers in language learning, experience sharing, and improving their language abilities.
Creating a Positive Environment: Supporting volunteers isn’t just about organizational help but also about fostering a friendly atmosphere that makes them feel like part of the community.
Monitoring Progress: Help volunteers integrate into projects, support their personal growth, and provide feedback on their progress and experiences.

What we’re looking for:

Good communication skills and a friendly approach towards volunteers and the local community.
Passion for mentoring and a desire to help young people learn and grow.
Proficiency in English (or other languages depending on volunteer needs) to facilitate communication.
Knowledge of local customs and culture of Murter, along with a willingness to share this information with volunteers.
Proactivity in organization and initiative, as well as the ability to support volunteers in various situations.

European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a European Union program aimed at strengthening solidarity across various areas: from helping socially vulnerable individuals and providing humanitarian aid to engaging in health and environmental initiatives within the EU and beyond. The program offers young people the chance to respond to community needs, make tangible contributions to society, and gain valuable experience while developing new skills. It is also designed for organizations active in solidarity work wishing to involve young people in their activities.
