2. Croatia’s championship in dry stonewall construction.
The joint manifestation of the associations of the 4 cities of Dragodid and Argonauta in cooperation with the Municipality of Murter-Kornati and the Museum of the City of Šibenik is the first Murter Competition meeting between holders of the drywall construction skills. 2. Croatia’s drywall construction championship is a manifestation whose first edition was held in 2011 in Kolan on the island of Pag. 2. The Croatian Drywall Championship will be organized on the Gradina Peninsula in Murter, in the area of the archaeological site Colentum, where some voluntary drywall restoration and construction activities have been carried out so far. The organization of this championship will place Murter in the place of one of the pioneers and initiators of the competition, which will significantly affect the affirmation of the drywall of the Murter region and the County of Šibenik-Knin. The Championship will be held in early October 2018. In addition to the competition part, the event will also include an entertainment program for competitors and visitors. The number of participants is limited to 10 four-person teams. The competition will be held at the training ground, and subsequently, all the material will be used in the restoration of the drywall at the Colentum. The competition teams will be made up of experienced drywall builders and others interested in the areas of Murter, Betina, Jezera, Tisno and all of Croatia and the Eastern Adriatic countries. Project 2. Croatia’s Drywall Championship is part of the program to mark the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
GOALS: increased public sensitivity for drywall construction, establishment of professional and organizational criteria for future similar competitions, exchange of contacts and knowledge among existing holders, registration of new holders in the list, transferring knowledge of drywall construction to new generations, promotion of the Colentum archaeological site, media popularization of drywall construction.
