Action, Education, Presentation – From Argonauta to Tisno.
Tisno Municipality, as part of the public needs program of citizens’ associations in the area of Tisno municipality for 2017, approved the program of the Argonaute association, which wants to extend its activities to the area of Tisno municipality. The proposed program will be divided into four main components, covering different topics and different user groups.
ECO-PATROL IN TISNO – Extracurricular extracurricular activities for children of upper grades of elementary school Vjekoslav Kaleb, Tisno.
Through its Education Center, the Argonauta Association has, since its founding in 2007, carried out activities for a target group of children between the ages of 10 and 14 through a program of volunteering in nature and the environment (especially marine). Within the Kornati project – it is important to know about the sea 3 a Murter Eco-patrol program was designed, and from now on, volunteer extracurricular activities will be attended by children of upper grades of the Vjekoslav Kaleb Elementary School, Tisno. Using informal learning methods, especially motivational and teambuilding games, and including in the program activities specific field activities (mapping, cleaning and marking illegal landfills, beach cleaning actions, public landscaping actions), participants will have fun competing in natural sciences, develop awareness of responsible behaviour towards nature and the marine environment, and a sense of belonging to a group and a sense of personal achievement.
BLUE DAYS IN LAKES, TISNIS AND BETINA – Summer Educational Program on Marine Biodiversity for Children
As part of the “Education Center for Sustainable Island and Coastal Development”, the Argonauta Association conducts an educational summer program for children. Employees, associates and volunteers of the Argonauta Association design a rich educational and entertaining program for children from 5 to 8 years of age, and each weekday, through July and August, hold workshops in the evening from 8 pm to 9 pm. The topics of the educational workshops are adapted to the children and the basic activity of the association and include archaeology, cultural and historical heritage of the homeland, ecology through recycling, and marine eco-system and marine biodiversity fun way.
From now on, the Educational Program will extend to the territory of the Municipality of Tisno, in Tisno, Jezera and Betina. During the summer season, July and August 2017, in cooperation with the Municipality of Tisno and the National Library and the Tisno Reading Room, 6 educational workshops will be organized on dolphins, sharks, turtles and other protected marine species.
CONTRIBUTION TO THE VALORIZATION OF CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE IN TISNO MUNICIPALITY – marking cultural and historical sites with info-boards
The rich cultural and historical heritage of the Municipality of Tisno often remains undetected in the eyes of visitors. The visitor thus visits Betina, Jezera and Tisno, unaware of the story of the construction of the Tisno Campanel, the significance of the church of Sv. Through this activity, the Argonaut association will contribute to the valorisation of the cultural and historical heritage by marking the most frequent tourist spots: information and education boards. Of the Spirit, St. Roka, Sv. Andrija, Katunarić palace, Our Lady of Caravai shrine and the bridge in Tisno. The information and education boards will contain the most important information related to construction, tradition associated with the facility, interesting facts and photographs. The tables will be bilingual, in Croatian and English, to be made available to locals, local and foreign visitors and tourists alike.
VOLUNTEER ACTIONS FOR THE CLEANING OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND MARKING THE GOAT – The Promenade of St. Andrew; Plain Road
Through the activities of individual projects or civil initiatives (illegal landfill cleanup operations, beach cleanup actions, archaeological site cleanup action, public garden maintenance – planting a Mediterranean garden, scrap paper collection, assistance with underwater cleanup operations, etc.), the Argonauta has significant experience in organizing volunteer actions in smaller local communities.
The Argonauta Association will use its experience in organizing volunteer activities to clean and mark the promenade of St. John’s. Andrew, who gets home to garbage debris after winter. The Ravničin Road will also be cleared and marked so that some of the locals and visitors will become more familiar with this pearl.
The objective of this component is to encourage locals and visitors to socialize with nature, to develop an awareness of the need to move to preserve and to promote health and to foster civic activism.
GOALS: Educating children about marine protected species through non-formal learning methods, encouraging local volunteerism and activism, and valorizing cultural heritage.
USERS: Local community - population of Tisno municipality, tourists and visitors, Vjekoslav Kaleb Tisno Primary School.
PARTNERS: Tisno Public Library and Reading Room, Betina Wooden Shipbuilding Museum, Tisno Tourist Board, Ježinac Municipal Enterprise.
