RURAL RAPSODY – YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE RHYTHM OF THE COMMUNITY.
The project activities will empower selected young people from the local community to actively work in their own rural community and take on the role of initiators and organizers of cultural, entertainment and other content through the preparation and implementation of their own projects. In order to ensure their interest and stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit, the young population of the island municipality and the hinterland of Dalmatia will be connected in order to exchange knowledge, ideas and skills and potentially jointly organize initiatives in the wider area of Šibenik-Knin County. This project will be an opportunity for the young population of rural municipalities to acquire knowledge and skills in an alternative way, different from the one normally offered in their environments.
Through this project, young people will acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to raise awareness of the potential of the local environment with the aim of developing entrepreneurial ideas, by becoming active in their own local community in the field of civic activism and in the field of realizing their own ideas in project activities. This skill will give them the opportunity to create a business opportunity and create an opportunity for self-employment. They will get to know the potential of their rural communities and the opportunities to develop them into ideas of social development or entrepreneurial ideas. Furthermore, through the project, young people will be informed about the possibilities of participating in projects for young people in Croatia and in Europe, they will be introduced to the search for opportunities for young people and the advantages of participating in such activities. By meeting the volunteers of the Argonaut Association, they will have the opportunity to get a real insight into participating in a project for young people. Young people in the rural areas of our county will learn firsthand how local self-government works and budgeting of public funds at the local level, and how young people can proactively position themselves towards the local government in order to allocate part of the budget for the real needs of young people. The developed youth projects in the implementation will include several different groups of end users in their communities depending on the project idea (youth, children, elderly rooms…). Successfully implemented ideas will have the potential to become regular and continuous activities in the local community and thus have a sustainable and long-lasting impact on social progress in rural areas.
GOALS: 1. Informing young people from rural areas of the Šibenik-Knin County about opportunities for youth mobility: It is very important to offer young people information about the possibilities of participating in various programs and projects for young people, in order to encourage them to participate in them and potentially start their own projects and initiatives in local communities. 2. Educating young people from the rural areas of the Šibenik-Knin County about the project cycle and development of project ideas, and project budgeting: Through the experience of working with young people, we have realized that the best work is in smaller groups with young people, as this ensures better communication and a more open relationship and concrete results are created - this is an intensive mentoring process. Therefore, in this competition project, we will select 3 teams of young people from the Municipality of Murter-Kornati, the Municipality of Promina and other rural areas in the County to participate in the incubator of project ideas in the form of the "design thinking" program using informal education methods with the help of mentors from the association and partner municipalities. Knowledge of what a project actually is and how a project cycle runs is a prerequisite for taking on social and entrepreneurial initiatives, and also, examples of good practice will serve as a tool for stimulating ideas. Therefore, one of the special goals of the project is education and information in the area of the project cycle, opportunities for young people, volunteerism and other current topics, which will provide them with a stimulating environment.
