The local action group “MORE 249” has been approved for a project by the Ministry of Science and Education, and the Argonauts association is a partner in the project. The project was approved in the amount of HRK 91,840.96.
Partners in the project are “Čista Velika” Elementary School, the City of Vodice, the Argonaut Association, and the Museum of the City of Šibenik. Each partner contributes to the realization of the goals of the “Let’s turn the circle of change” project in accordance with its goals and areas of activity and previous indirect or direct cooperation with LAG.
The goal of the project is to expand the knowledge of the plant world among school-age children and to influence the awareness of environmental protection through various activities (workshops, field teaching, volunteer actions, educational posters/calendar). The project will arrange the school yard with garden beds (eco-sensory garden), teach about the importance of seed conservation, conduct ecological workshops, plant preparation workshops, paper recycling, make “insect hotels” and set up a weather station along with additional education.
Children will be provided with experiential learning and the development of key competencies, while the school will provide education and mentoring with everything necessary to continue working on these topics. By transferring knowledge and good practices, we will encourage employees, volunteers, adults, and children to implement educational activities on these topics in schools so that the acquired knowledge will have its practical application even after the implementation of the project.
