Sarah Asad.
Hello, everyone! I’m Sarah, and I’m here to share a little bit about my journey and my role at our wonderful organization.
Originally hailing from Jordan, I’m a civil engineer by profession, but my heart beats for something more – environmental issues. It’s a passion that’s been with me for as long as I can remember. I believe that we all have a role to play in preserving our planet for future generations, and I’m committed to doing my part.
In September 2022, I embarked on a life-changing adventure that led me to the stunning island of Murter. Little did I know that this journey would be a turning point in my life. I was welcomed with open arms by the incredible team at Argonauta, and from that moment on, there was no looking back.
One of the things that struck me about Argonauta was their dedication to non-formal education. They are true experts in this field, and I had the privilege of learning from the best. The unique approach to education here is inspiring, and it has left an indelible mark on my own perspective.
During my time here, I had the opportunity to be a part of numerous projects, from beach cleaning initiatives that aimed to protect our precious coastlines to engaging workshops that fostered environmental awareness and action within our community, youth exchanges, and other events. These experiences were not just tasks to complete; they were journeys of growth, learning, and, most importantly, making a positive impact.
Living in Murter is an experience that comes around once in a lifetime, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have seized this chance. The island’s breathtaking beauty and the warm embrace of my local friends have made it feel like a second home to me. I’ve had the privilege of immersing myself in the rich Croatian culture, forming lifelong friendships, and, most importantly, contributing to the cause I hold dear.
