tomorrow’s environmental advocates.

Every two weeks, the Argonauta association holds a workshop for children about the marine theme as part of the project “Kornati – it is important to know about the sea 7”. In these workshops, the presenter, Klara, uses non-formal education strategies to attract kids’ attention and focus by using short movies, picture books, dancing, creating art crafts about each workshop topic, playing games, and more.

We held so far 4 workshops, I am now participating in developing these workshops with my colleague Klara. Sometimes I can really see the results of our work developing on our volunteer project, for example after each workshop with kids, the new information they learned, the environmental consciousness they build, and having fun and enjoying their time, is why they back to our workshops over and over!

It’s crucial that we all work together to raise today’s kids to be tomorrow’s environmental activists as we continue to battle climate change. Early ecological education can ensure that kids will take care deeply of our planet for many years to come.

About the ESC: The European Solidarity Corps is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping the disadvantaged and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.
The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.
