Travel time.

Datum objave: 5. June, 2024.

We started the month by traveling to Finland to attend the “Proactive Ecoland Trainging Course”. The truth is that the opportunity that Argonauta has given us has been unique!

We flew from Zadar to Helsinki very tired, as we had to start the trip in the early morning. Once we arrived in Finaland, we were able to walk around the city a bit before arriving at the meeting point where we met our partners for the next few days.

The days in Virrat were magical, that place has a special aura in which it is impossible to be stressed. Waking up in the morning with a view of the lake, eating natural and healthy food, living Finnish traditions like the sauna, being in an international environment, working on nature care as well as enjoying nature made those days an incredible experience.

I have to say that I never imagined that one day I would end up swimming in a lake in Finland at 4 degrees, playing hide and seek, trying to hunt northern lights at 3 o’clock in the morning with practically unknown people, but that’s the beauty of living a volunteering like this, you live so many things that it is impossible not to enjoy in the process.

Once we got back, we were able to enjoy the company of Juliette’s parents and a few days later we were able to enjoy the company of my father. Enjoying a trip together with him and his company made me very happy. We visited Dubrovnik and also went to the Plitvice lakes.

Once my father set course for Spain, we set course for the Kornati since we had the “Kornati Eko Kamp”.

A few days later, I was visited by Antonia, one of the short term volunteers of the “Isla Extravaganza” project organized by Argonauta in October. It was very cool to see her again and remember together the moments lived in this small island when I was just starting my adventure. And to my surprise, a week later Sebastian, another of the volunteers of the same project wrote me to see us as he was on a sailing trip along the coast of Dalmatia with a friend and his family.

That night we spent together was great, we went to a concert, we danced in the middle of the dance floor, we bathed in the sea at night and we ended up going up to Raduć to see the sunrise, but it was a failed attempt as it was very cloudy.

And the month ended with a visit from David, whom I was looking forward to seeing. Having him for a week was great, we were able to do everything I missed, eat together in restaurants, go to the beach, tour new towns like Ljubljana, have picnics, etc. And, I have to say that I loved Slovenia, Ljubljana is one of the most beautiful capitals I have ever been to, next to Prague.

So nothing, another month gone. So now that we only have 4 months to go and the summer will fly by for sure, I will have to think about what will be the next adventure after finishing volunteering.

At the moment I am not sure, I have many options…let’s see if next month I have already made a decision.

See you soon!
