The second day of the project kicked off with engaging discussions, new tasks, and a lot of ideas!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Together with our program coordinator Lucija, the new volunteers explored Youthpass competencies. By designing imaginary volunteer journeys, they learned how to identify their own interests and set goals they wish to achieve during their experience. It was inspiring to hear the enthusiasm with which these young people want to contribute to positive change in the world. We hope they have gained valuable knowledge that will help them turn their project-related ideas and dreams into real activities and concrete changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Suzana led the second part of the day, presenting the volunteers with a new challenge: preparing to plant oak trees near the local school. The volunteers learned just how important oaks are for the environment\u2014they sequester carbon, provide habitats for numerous animals, and help conserve the soil. Oaks are not merely large and impressive; they are part of a complex web of life connecting the various elements of our ecosystem. Now, a new task awaits our participants: gathering as many oak seedlings as possible! We played a fun challenge to test their teamwork skills and continued strengthening the small community that will become their home for the next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
