Island Extravaganza 2025 – ESC Team Volunteering.
GOALS: The social challenges we plan to address in this activity are: the unused cultural and historical heritage of the island of Murter and the challenges of maintaining traditional intangible heritage in the community. Our main motivation for implementing the aforementioned activity is that by implementing it, we will contribute to one of the strategic goals of our organization: - Revitalization and valorization of cultural and historical heritage - through contributions to the revitalization and valorization of cultural and historical heritage, we enrich its content and stimulate the interest of the local community in the value of the tangible and intangible heritage of the island of Murter, and we raise awareness among visitors about the importance of preserving cultural and historical heritage. The inclusion of international volunteers in activities related to the culture of the local community, from our many years of experience, also enriches our organizational culture, giving it a multicultural dimension, openness, acceptance of diversity and a European spirit of solidarity. Within the framework of this activity, we strive to address the concepts of - local, social, archaeological heritage, culture, which are part of the strategic directions/goals of our work as an association. Therefore, the main activities of the ESC volunteers will be related to assisting the Argonauta team in some activities related to the preservation and promotion of the Colentum Archaeological Park and local traditions. As a long-standing actor in the preservation and promotion of the local culture of Murter (material and immaterial), Argonauta follows current global, European, national, regional and local trends related to the preservation of cultural heritage, offering solutions at the local level and expanding them to the regional level ("Think globally, act locally"). To this end, we continuously participate in traditional cultural events of the local community, shaping them closely through cooperation with other local stakeholders and including an international perspective and the perspective of young people who come as international ESC volunteers.
