Farewell to an Unforgettable Journey.
In just a few short days, my year-long volunteering journey in Croatia will come to an end, and as I reflect on this incredible chapter, I can’t help but recall the overwhelming excitement I felt when I first set foot in this enchanting land. It was a world brimming with new places, unique cultural norms, fascinating individuals, and an entirely different environment. Yet today, as I bid farewell, I find myself viewing these very things through the lens of goodbye.
I’ve been reminiscing about what made my volunteering time special. I think about the cool workshops with Argonauta, sipping coffee by the sea, and the lively concerts in the center of Murter every weekend. Saying goodbye will be tough, especially to the beautiful sunsets I’ve seen from places like Raduč and other hills. I’ll miss going for a swim with my friends while the sky’s colors reflect on the water.
The last couple of months have been a bit stressful as I tried to plan my future and study for an important exam. But I’ve decided to make the most of these final days. I’ve embraced the “You Only Live Once” idea, which means I never turned down an event or invitation.
I want to express my gratitude to the Argonauta Association for giving me this amazing opportunity. It was my first time being part of non-formal education and working with a non-profit group. I’m sure this experience will influence my future career choices.
In the coming days, I’ll enjoy my last sunsets, cups of coffee, and evening ice creams in the heart of Murter. I’ll explore Krka and Šibenik with the strong feeling that I’ll be back to visit Croatia and Murter again someday.
