Visit to Catholic Elementary School Šibenik: Final Conference of the Project “Let’s Turn the Circle of Change IV”.
On Tuesday, July 2, 2025, we visited the Catholic Primary School Šibenik to jointly celebrate the successful implementation of all activities within the project “Let’s Turn the Circle of Change IV”, in which we participated as project partners.
During the final conference, the results and activities carried out during the project were presented, including:
- Holding educational workshops from the set “Ecological Footprint – How to Reduce It?”
- Implementing the School Garden volunteer action and establishing a functional eco-garden
- Purchasing a smart bench
- Implementing an educational prize trip with a workshop on renewable energy sources
- Printing an interactive brochure
As partners, we conducted educational workshops and participated in the implementation of the School Garden volunteer action. All activities were based on informal learning methods with an emphasis on practical work, creativity and joint reflection on sustainability. Among other things, the students learned about recycling (waste, sorting, the 7R concept, ecological puzzles, Eco Escape Room), ecological gardening and composting (a guided story through which they imagined a walk through the garden with all their senses and visually depicted it), how the ecosystem works (they learned about force – Newton’s laws and the pendulum, making catapults; about hydraulics and pneumatics – making their own “eco-monsters” that move air; and about energy – forms of energy and creating a polygon for testing the speed and strength of marbles and pompoms), and they made planting calendars and an insect hotel. Through the above, the students were recognized and empowered as active bearers of a sustainable future.
We are very pleased to have been part of this valuable project and look forward to continuing our cooperation!
The project “Let’s turn the circle of change IV” is being implemented at the Catholic Primary School Šibenik during the 2024/2025 school year, from February 4 to August 31, 2025. The project leader is the Local Action Group “More 249”, while the partners are: the Catholic Primary School Šibenik, the City of Šibenik and the Argonauta Association. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth.
