Eco-Wednesday: Trouble in the Water: Boats & the Ocean.
This Eco-Wednesday, July 9th, we hosted a fun and educational workshop at Jedro all about how boats and yachts can harm the environment when not used responsibly. ⚓🌱
We kicked things off with a hands-on activity where the kids explored different harmful boating behaviors and discussed how we can change them to better protect the sea and its inhabitants. 🌊🐠
Then, everyone got creative designing their own boats — there was lots of drawing, laughter, and imagination! We wrapped up the day with an exciting game of Sinking Ships, where two teams battled it out for victory. 🚢💥
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us — we had an amazing time! We’ll be back next Wednesday with a brand-new topic (weather permitting) at Lantana. See you soon! 💙🌿
*Workshops are being conducted as part of the project “3,2,1…green!”. The project is financed by the Šibenik-Knin County.
*The European Solidarity Corps (ESS) is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping disadvantaged people and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.
The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.
Volunteers from the European Solidarity Forces program took part in the activity.
