Colentum Archaeological Site 4.

The Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, as part of the Call for Proposals for projects of associations for eligibility for financial support within the available budgetary funds for 2013 and 2014, approved projects under the name “Archeological treasure Colentum 2 (and 3) – encouraging community participation in the sustainable development of local cultural and historical heritage resources. ”

The result of these two projects was the printing of an illustrated short story entitled “The Adventures of Petronius by Valento Colentinac – The Calafat Challenge” and its theatrical adaptation entitled “The Little Calafat”.

The “Archaeological treasure Colentum 4” project is a follow-up project to the projects mentioned above and is based on the real needs of the community of the town of Murter (island of Murter) and the experience of implementing the previous two projects.

Although the project consists of several project activities, there are three key interrelated parts:

1. Holding drama workshops or “Small School of Theater” for pupils of Murterski škoji elementary school
2. The premiere of the new theatre play “Quinto’s Treasure”
3. Production and printing of an innovative tourist map with the working name “Meet the secrets of Colentum”

This project is important because it is about promoting the sustainable development of a Croatian island that is just learning to use its intriguing cultural, natural and historical resources. The project affirms various elements of heritage such as dramatic amateurism, archaeological heritage, the beauty of the landscape and nature, local talents, etc. The play of the play revolves around a secret treasure as a metaphor for sustainable development based on heritage elements. The project will include local human resources as a fundamental component of this treasure. Archaeologist M.Sc. Zeljko Krncevic boldly states that with sufficient investment, Colentum can become one of the biggest tourist attractions in Croatia. We believe that this project will help raise awareness of the local people about this secret treasure and involve those same local forces to dig it up and learn to live it.

GOALS: Overall objective: • Sustainable development of the local island community; • Contributing to the extension of the tourist season by the tourist valorisation of the island's archaeological heritage; • Development of island cultural and historical tourism; • Tourist evaluation of the Colentum archaeological site; • Tourist evaluation of Murter's theatre amateurism; • Revitalization of Murter's Theater Amateurism; • The popularization of the mascot of the archaeological site Colentum - Quint Petronia Valent Colentinac. Specific objectives: 1. Education of talented students of elementary school "Murterski škoji" on the basics of acting and stage performance; 2. Establishing a theatre group and forming a nucleus of young people who will carry the theatre amateurism of the island of Murter; 3. Design and production of a new play called "Quint's Treasure"; 4.
