Workshop with Kindergarten Children about Solar Energy.
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, we held an educational workshop at the Jedro Community Center about solar energy. The workshop was part of the Interreg project REC in MED, which aims to inform and educate the public, especially children, about the importance of protecting the environment and using renewable energy.
We talked about the history of energy, from fossil fuels like oil, coal, and gas, to cleaner options like wind, water, and the sun. The children showed great knowledge and interest in the topic!
After the introduction, we started the practical part – making solar ovens using recycled pizza boxes! The children watched carefully and were excited to see how solar energy can be used to heat food… and even melt chocolate 😊
At the end, with the help of clues that appeared around the office for several days, the children worked with the Argonauta team to solve a small environmental mystery. Each clue led to a new task, and together they found an important message: Solar Energy for a Happier Planet!
