HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AT NCP CHARTER AND MARE!.
As part of the project “Eco Camp Kornati 2025,” within the third component – an educational program* intended for high school students training for careers related to the sea – a visit was organized to NCP Charter and Mare in Šibenik, leaders in yacht chartering in Croatia. The visitors were students from the Traffic-Technical High School, accompanied by teachers of vocational subjects.
Katarina and Vedran welcomed us and presented all the key aspects of their business – from the types of vessels, professions involved in this sector, organization of work, to how significant this activity is for the Croatian economy.
We touched upon our national parks, the season, and vessels, with a focus on environmentally friendly methods of vessel maintenance, including the use of non-toxic coatings to protect hulls instead of traditional copper-based products, as well as the implementation of advanced waste management systems (grey and black water tanks) on ships.
The discussion with students showed that this educational presentation significantly broadened their horizons and further stimulated interest in careers in the maritime sector. They gained valuable knowledge about sustainable practices and ecological innovations, which makes an important contribution to achieving the goals of our program.
*The program was implemented as part of the “Eco Camp Kornati 2025” project, financed by the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union funds.
