Island Extravaganza 2025: Colentum Scavenger Hunt.

Yesterday, the five volunteers of our project “Island Extravaganza 2025” and our two long-term ESC volunteers organized an exciting scavenger hunt through the archaeological site of Colentum for the children of the middle school in Murter. They brought to life the story of a Roman city, complete with various inhabitants and historical figures, whom the kids met along the way. At several creative and playful stations, the children completed fun tasks and faced challenges. Their journey ended in the finale, where they had to find the final treasure, guarded by pirates. In a relaxed and informal setting, the children learned a great deal about the history and archaeology of Colentum, gaining new insights into its past inhabitants, culture, and significance. It wasn’t only educational but also fostered teamwork, curiosity, and a deeper connection to their local heritage, making history come alive.
