WELCOME BACK SUMMER ECO WEDNESDAYS!.

Today, Wednesday 25th of June, we hosted the first workshop of the new “Eco-Wednesday” program at Lantana Bar!

The traditional Argonauta Eco Wednesdays have been with us for many years, and this summer is no exception. Inspired by the success of our winter workshops, we decided to continue the adventure of learning about nature in a fun and engaging way – this time with a special focus on what surrounds us: the Adriatic Sea and local nature.

We opened the season with a workshop dedicated to raising awareness about ocean plastic pollution. In the first part of the workshop, we tried to remove plastic from a fictional sea and quickly realized that it was almost impossible to do so completely. This prompted us to think about the lasting impact that plastic waste has on the marine environment. Then, we looked at the importance of recognizing what belongs in the sea and what should definitely end up in the trash.

To show our gratitude to the marine world and all its inhabitants, we created marine-themed artwork using our fingerprints. We painted elements such as marine animals and plants, and in the end we had a beautiful creation that represents a clean and healthy sea – without plastic!

This is just the first in a series of our educational workshops, so join us next Wednesday, July 2nd at 10:00 AM at the Lantana beach bar, Čigrađa bay. 🌊🐚
