December break.
Start of December we went to Zagreb to see some friends we made on the On-arrival Training. It was a nice city break, especially because we visited the advent and saw all the beautiful Christmas decorations.
After we came back, we tried enjoying the last weeks on the island before returning home for Christmas. We had two Christmas workshops at the kindergarten in Murter. Of course we watched a lot of sunsets and had a lot of talks about everything and nothing.

Finally, I said Goodbye to Ana and the island and spent two nights in Split where I had the cutest airbnb hosts. Even though I enjoyed the city solo, I couldn’t stop thinking about my friends and family that waited for me in Germany. After a slightly chaotic journey home, I was more than happy to be in my hometown again. The following week, I spent as much time as humanly possible with my friends and family, telling them about my life in Croatia and showing them tons of pictures, but it was hard to actually explain the whole experience. I found myself being more comfortable talking about other topics instead. At this point I have to mention my friend Annika, who is currently doing an ESC long-term volunteering in Sweden! It was so comforting to talk to someone who understands both the highs and lows of our adventures abroad. At the end of January, I visited my brother in his own apartment to spend New Years in his city. I am still so grateful to have had this time of catching up and recharging with my loved ones in Germany.
