Thank God you were short.

Well, well, well… not my favorite, to be honest.

February was cold and sunny. February was filled with reflection and quiet moments. February was… February, I guess. To be honest, I’m struggling a bit to remember what happened these past few weeks. We’ve been holding a lot of workshops at Jedro – Winter Program on Tuesdays and the Eko-Srijeda program on Wednesdays. The other day, I planted some parsley with the kids to explain the Greenhouse Effect, and it was my favorite workshop so far. Speaking of plants, the one we have at home is still growing fast and furious.

This month, we planned a little trip to Ljubljana. For me, it was fantastic; for poor Theresa… not so much, jajaja. You can check her blog for the full story. After a couple of days in cold Ljubljana, I went with my partner (not Theresa – the other one) to Sarajevo. It was completely different from any place I’d been before, and I loved it. It’s a city with a tough history, and my perspective on many things shifted after what I learned there. After that, we returned to Murter and spent a few more days here. I feel so happy and lucky that my partner lives nearby, so he can kind of join me on this adventure.

We also had to take care of Muki during these days. He spent a couple of nights outside before Theresa came back, so the poor little guy got sick, but he recovered quickly.

After that, both of my partners left – one back to Ljubljana and the other to Sweden – so I had the weekend to myself. I had been looking forward to some alone time to reflect on many things… like what to do after this experience is over. But to be honest, I wasn’t prepared for the solitude, even though I thought I was. I felt a bit overwhelmed by my thoughts and by the realization that, although we know some people here, we haven’t really made true friends. And I have to say I’m proud of how Theresa and I have managed to get through the winter months here.

Now, after this not-so-positive reflection, let me tell you about Bake (carnival)… It was amazing! Juan came for a Training Course, so we did a trio costume: Alvin and the Chipmunks. Lucija dressed as Barbie, and she looked stunning. It was such a great day – everyone was so happy, and we met a lot of wonderful people. Both of us felt like something had shifted on the island and that the best part of this adventure was about to begin. All the pictures below were taken with Theresa’s camera, but my phone finally arrived!! So now, at least, we have one.

All in all, February had its ups and downs, but I think it was worth it for everything that’s coming next. It’s crazy to think that half of the project is already over… and that soon, the mosquitoes will be back.

Vidimo se uskoro!
