THE JOY OF CARNIVAL!.
Hello hello!
Here we are for another month!
February arrived and with it brought joy. We welcomed our friend Petra home once again, at that time the month had just begun and we were still recovering from the fatigue of the last trip to Bosnia, even so we had a great time. The school teacher, Karlo, where we go from time to time to work with the children, offered us to go to a party with him and a friend of his and we couldn’t say no, since things as cool as that rarely happen to us. They invite us to go to a party. The truth is that we didn’t understand anything about the party but it was still very good. Seeing the carnival atmosphere and having a drink with nice people is all that sometimes two girls who live on an island without many friends need…
During this month we were able to see a couple of swans on the beaches of the island! In addition, you are beginning to breathe a very beautiful spring air, the days are a little longer, the trees are beginning to bloom and you can see some lizards dabbling in the sun!
This month was my birthday and we were able to celebrate it in a very cool way since it coincided with the dates of the Murter carnival. That day we went to see the children’s parade and then dance a little in the tent, where at the end of the night they launched fireworks!! It was incredible, but the best thing was having a pizza in Basilico to end the day and blowing out the candles on the cake that Juliette lovingly made for me in the company of our neighbor Ivana. A very beautiful and special day without a doubt.
A couple of days later we celebrated the carnival and dressed up as ghosts, even though the costume was very uncomfortable, it was very funny to see us out there with two white tunics singing around the island, since no one could recognize us. Also, we went to dinner and a party with the Argonauta team!!
The days passed and we had fun preparing the ECOWensdays, I adore those children by the way, they are a whirlwind of energy. Likewise, in the afternoons we have the winter program which continues to be a success and we continue with the HipHop classes to which new girls continue to come to dance with us. I think this part is my favorite, working with the children, since when we are with them the time flies by. I suppose that here I reaffirm my vocation to work in the educational sector, although sometimes it can be somewhat exhausting, I am not going to lie…
Finally, we sunbathed a lot on the balcony, taking advantage of the sunny days and the rainy or cloudy days, we simply dedicated ourselves to watching movies and lazing around in bed.
As a super cool event this month, I highlight the day that once again Karlo, our favorite creator of impromptu plans, offered us to go to Zagreb to demonstrate against corruption in Croatia. It was super good, since we didn’t expect to see many people and in the end we ended up participating in the largest demonstration in the history of Croatia in years. Honestly, we are super grateful to have Karlo, since he always cares about us in one way or another and always offers us plans that break our routine, which sometimes leads us to overthink things a lot and takes us into a loop in the that we don’t enjoy the experience as much as we should.
And I cannot fail to mention either, the meal we made at home with the neighbors with the excuse of presenting some traditional dishes from our countries.
In short, a more active month than January, therefore happier and looking forward to the days passing, since I am flying to Spain soon!
