Hello 2024!.

Datum objave: 5. February, 2024.

Another month has passed, and with it the new 2024 has arrived.

January brought many periods of reflection, ups and downs and mixed emotions… I was always told that returning to a new home after spending Christmas with family and friends in your country is complicated, and now that I’ve experienced it I’m sure it is.

The good thing about bad times is that you get to know yourself better, what you want, what you really feel and why. Furthermore, we must not forget that bad moments are also part of the experience. Many times we are made to believe that going to live in another country is very nice, and it is; but it’s also hard because you miss your home, family, friends. You have to solve problems that arise in your new home, solve problems that arise in your country with the difficulties of distance, make new friends and feel part of something, adapt to a new culture and a new language.

But hey, January didn’t just bring bad things, but a lot of good things. This month I made a proposal to create a winter program in order to give young people on the island an alternative way to spend their free time. The program has not only progressed, but is also very successful, which makes me extremely happy. We continued with the hip-hop classes, which were joined by new participants, and Juliette started Eco-Wednesdays, so we had a very busy January. In addition, I tried to train Muay Thai and started training at home.

Another good news is that we went to Vodice to be recognized as official residents in Croatia, so now we have a Croatian identity card!! Likewise, Juliette and I danced in the kitchen singing at the top of our lungs, we swam for the first time in the new year in the sea, we argued and laughed when we realized what an unnecessary drama we had created. We supported each other and when we needed it most, we were poorer, but we also treated each other to burek or hamburger, and of course we strengthened our friendship more than ever.

But without a doubt, the top moment of this month was the trip to Bosnia. Which country! She left us speechless. We didn’t expect it to be so magical at all, the people are super friendly, the nature is incredible, the cuisine is diverse, the culture is magical. Getting off the island and experiencing something new and interacting with other people was great for us because we were able to clear our heads and come back with more energy.

Well, nothing, we are looking forward to the next trip and the month of February to experience the carnival of Murter as a special experience.
