Swimming School – From the Sea to the Table

Swimming School – From the Sea to the Table

Project Plava škola – Od mora do stola is focused on educating children and the local community about fishing and maritime heritage, and the importance of the sustainable use of marine resources. Through Blue Eco-Patrol workshops at the Murter and Tisno elementary schools, a field visit to the Adria fishing cooperative, and the development and presentation of an educational module, students gain practical knowledge about sustainability, fisheries, and marine conservation. The project connects schools, fishermen, and the wider community, ensures the public availability of its results through digital channels and public events, and contributes to the long-term preservation of cultural and natural heritage through the active involvement of younger generations.

Project objectives

  • To educate about local fishing and maritime heritage and to connect students with tradition and local identity.
  • Promote sustainable development and environmental protection by raising awareness of sustainable fisheries, ocean conservation, and climate challenges.
  • Foster intergenerational connection and inclusivity by involving students, parents, teachers, and local stakeholders in shared activities.
  • Strengthen the capacity of the local community by connecting young people with local stakeholders and supporting the future sustainable development of the fishing community.
  • An innovative approach to education through the development of new educational content and practical experiences.
