Information and education
History of the Education centre
Argonauta's educational programs have maintained their continuity over the years. The programs consist of projects and activities aimed at protecting the nature and environment of the wider Murter region and promoting sustainable development through information and education and contributing to sustainable development initiatives in the local community.
The users of the educational programs are mostly children and young people and visitors to the island of Murter, but its activities are increasingly expanding to the regional and national levels. In the creation, planning, and implementation of educational programs, the entire Argonauta team with professional associates and volunteers participates.
2007.
The educational center for sustainable development of the coast and islands was opened in Murter in October 2007 as part of the project Contribution to sustainable development of the coast and islands of Šibenik-Knin County, which was mostly financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the MATRA program.
2018.
The educational center operated in the space of the adapted ground floor, popularly called Sokolane, which the Municipality of Murter-Kornati gave to the Argonauta Association at the address of the Market of the Village Education Center bb in the old part of Murter until 2018, when the association ceded it for the purposes of exhibiting the native ethnological collection of Marko Mudronja. 2020.
In 2020, the educational center for the sustainable development of the coast and islands will get a new space at Hrvatske vladara 47, Murter, adapted as part of the Blue Eco-Patrol project, financed by the Swiss-Croatian cooperation program.
