Moving for mental health
Moving for mental health
Moving for Mental Health (MoMe) responds to the needs and wishes of participants from the previous youth exchange called “Youth Go Local.” MoMe will bring young people of different nationalities and backgrounds to Croatia to spark a conversation about mental health and its connection to dance and sports. The main goal of this project is to bring together 45 young people from 6 different countries to inspire one another with methods for improving their own well-being and to share them in their local communities. We want to raise their awareness of the current state of youth mental health in their communities and improve their emotional and physical well-being by learning how to use their bodies more effectively and creatively. This will encourage the social engagement and active participation of the young people involved in this project.
Project objectives
- Gather 45 young people from diverse backgrounds to promote cultural diversity, giving them the opportunity to learn about other cultures while living and working in mixed-nationality settings; raise awareness of current youth mental health by exploring experiences in their local communities, reducing stigma around taboo topics.
- To reflect on the effect that physical movement has on physical well-being, to overcome negative attitudes, and to strengthen participants' self-confidence and self-esteem.
- Learn to use your body more effectively and creatively, and improve your emotional and physical well-being through dance workshops.
- To secure a space for preparing and performing the show for the local community in order to showcase the results of the exchange.
